This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 15, 2008:
Love and patience! When I first found out I was going to be a mother I didn't think I would have enough of either one - and now (Thanks be to God!) I find that I have plenty! If I have one goal in life it is to help others (especially those with children!) to have patience as well. If people in the world had more patience think of what a better place it would be for our babies! And remember, even if you don't have babies of blood relation to you, IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO RAISE A CHILD!

I like that quote –
Patience, tolerance, understanding and love are the watchwords of one of the organizations I attend on regular basis. ~ good stuff.
I like the quote, too. I don't know if I'll ever have enough patience to raise my own kids but I have helped to raise many kids and started doing so when I was still half kid myself (so I have actually seen some of those kids I helped raising grow into wonderful adults, one even is a mommy now herself - of triplets, btw!).
Sounds similar to what I have done in a way. I raised my younger siblings. Unfortunately I've lost touch with all but one. Hehe, and don't worry about having patience for your own kids, it will come when you need it. I think I'm one of the most IMPATIENT people in the world.
My mantra when they are a pain is “Children are a gift from God.” It keeps me from stringing them up by their cute toes!
