What makes something worthwhile?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for November 26, 2008:
Everyone has different views on what makes something worthwhile. I think it all boils down to what the outcome is. Did it make you and others happy, smile, laugh or cry? Did it bring you or others to a place you wanted or needed to be in life? At least these are the things I think about.
Like this bday cake I stayed up making till 1:30am. My son didn't eat any more than the oreo wheels and the M&Ms I used to fill the coal tender. But he loved it just the same...it was worth every second of my time!

You're skillful, Jackie. Gr8 cake!
Thank you very much! hehe, the picture l copied it from looks waaaay better! I've also done a bath tub with a rubber duckie, a swimming pool and a luau hula girl. Next I will be trying to make a nintendo shaped one for my husband. They are too much fun!
We won't even talk about how many tooth picks it took to hold together the bathtub one….
= )
That's so sweet of you to take the time to make these cakes for your loved ones!
That is one amazingly made cake.
I think what makes anything worthwhile is being able to share that moment or thing with the one you love.
I think that being with friends and family is what’s so special, that it makes life itself worth while! :)
